Default Give opinions on these rod and main bearing clearances.

Mains:

1) .0027
2) .0026
3) .0025
4) .0029
5) .0026

Rods:

1) .0023
2) .0024
3) .0023
4) .0024
5) .0024
6) .0025
7) .0025
8) .0024

Seems alittle loose to me compared to some things I have been reading. Should I be running thicker oil than 10-30 with a loose motor like this? Thanks for the input.

Their a little loose, but fine.

Dont worry about changing oil viscositys unless you run a little low on oil pressure. But I doubt you are.

You'll be fine. IMO the rods are great and the mains are a little on the loose side, but that is typical for aftermarket bearings. Speed-pros? Is the engne buttoned up and installed?

Tighten it up! Is it apart or just planning for rev 2?

Still together but planning for the future. Looking at solid roller options right now.

That is not an abnormally loose engine. Are you using a stock aluminum block? If so, your main clearances are just fine since a big cube motor making a lot of power will move that block around quite a bit and if you don't give it a little more room to move, it will wipe out the mains.

Hot idle is around 32 and cold is around 45 and cold driving goes to almost
60. Found that I have a bad sending unit. Used a mechanical gauge to get these readings. Seems all is good, I would like alittle more idle psi but running a vac pump does cause a lower psi from what I have been told. Just want to make sure all was good for atleast the rest of the season. Come winter I plan on pulling it apart for the solid roller setup and then have the bottom end gone over for peice of mind. If there was to be a problem I would just pull apart now and get ready for the winter. But all looks good, I appreciate all the help guys.

This is part of what happened in my 413 LS2. My main clearances were closer to .0022 and I had an issue with my main bearings starving for oil and sticking to the crank. Had the crank turned and line bored the block and the new clearances are at about .0027- .0028. I think this should be a much better running engine. I am planning on dropping the motor in today.

Those bearings will tell you much more that what we can right now. Those clearances should be perfectly fine, though.
