08 escalade l92 I am having trouble finding anyone that has done much wih an 07 or later escalade. I've been searching all over heck and found a company that makes l92 crate motors with stand alone computers, but no internal enigne packages for the escalade. I know that the VVT adds a measure of difficulty in the design but still. I would like a H/C package for my esv and have been trying to find some presedence to make an informed decision to no avail. Anyone here on the board have any experience on the l92 vvt in an escalde? |
Just found Livernois Motorsports. Any feedback? |
A package for you would be Mast Motorsports stage 2 cam, PRC ported L92 heads (70cc chambers), Headers, and a cold air intake. With that your Caddy should wake up nicely. Note: Currently no one offers a performance cam for the AFM motors. So if your engine has AFM then you will loose that. And if your motor has AFM then you will need to get a set of lifters to go with the aftermarket camshaft. If you want to keep the stock cam due to VVT and get a small increase in power then you could go with a set of 1.85" rocker arms, ported heads, cold air, and headers. SLP have shaft mounted L92 roller tip rocker arms (probably rebadged Yellow Terra's). You might want to check with Mast to see if there stage 2 cam + 1.85" rockers would work (PVT may be an issue with that cam and longer rocker arms). Cam spec's are here: http://www.mastmotorsports.com/page....Camshaft&id=32 Head Spec's are here: http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...d=697&catid=40 Rocker arm spec's are here: http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=50189 If I'm not mistaken all 3 are ls1tech vendors so links in the thread shouldn't be an issue... |
If you are looking for internal, as they mentioned not too much for the new motor, but if you want external go with ecs supercharge. |
The 6.2 does not have AFM. Magnacharger is developing a kit as we speak, should be out not too much longer. That would give you more than heads/cam for sure. There is a guy running around here with an 08 Sierra Denali (same motor) and it's cammed to the tune of 403rwhp. Runs very strong, also has a stall and some other things, might have a little shot on it too. Late Model Racecraft did the install. |
Where did you get your information? Its not correct. From Cadillac's web site: Engine Type Gen IV 6.2L Vortec V8 VVT Horsepower/Torque403 hp at 5,700 rpm and 417 lb-ft at 4,300 rpm |

AFM and VVT are not the same thing. The L92 DOES NOT have AFM...not sure why that went that route, but thats the way it is. The VVT just uses a cam phaser on the cam gear. Easily worked around. i am looking to get rid of the DOD & AFM & maybe the VVT |
Escalade/Denali Cam Package We have complete crate engine packages as well as camshaft packages for Escalades. They usually result in a 80-100 HP gain at the crank. Give us a shout and we'll see if we can't get you fixed up. |

How can you tell if you have DOD and VVT? I know with AFM when youl pull the intake off you can see a maze. Thanks! if your cam has single bolt and phaser attached its vvt. version |

Thank you! |
Some were the 6.0L L76 truck motor. They were the only thing I know of with AFM and VVT. None of the L92 I have seen have AFM though they all have VVT. |
