L86 swap - Fuel and wiring questions
Alright guys, I'm not new to EFI and swaps, but DI is new territory. We're repowering our Silver State Classic car with an L86 out of a 2017 Denali. We run a '95 Firebird with a Super T10 4-speed and a 2.50 ratio 9" rear end.
First, we're currently planning on going with the GM performance 19368833 setup, but we do have the entire factory ECU and harness already, just no pedal. What is the going rate for converting the factory harness and ECU to standalone, and who is most recommended?
Second, I need to feed this thing. The car has the factory tank, but I'm thinking we're going to need at least a 340 LPH pump. I need an outline of how to set it up if at all difference from a standard EFI supply.

- Does someone make an in-tank upgrade?
- Is there anything special about the fuel supply up to the HP pump?
- Is the PWM fuel control needed if I run a return regulator?

Check out PCI and SpearTech for harness conversions. Both are vendor/sponsors here.

Speartech now does harness reworks. I bought a rework from them and it works perfect. Whomever you decide to buy your harness from, just make sure it fits your engine. I am running a LT1 engine and there is a difference between the 2014-2016 and 2017 up. The 2017 and up engines are considered digital engines identified by an empty wire slot in one of the high pressure sensor plugs. Not sure if the L86 is wired the same.

I just completed some research on a stand alone and decided to go with BP Automotive , I checked with Speartech and it was going to be over 2K for their harness. If the harness is not going back into the original vehicle , it will not qualify for a rework but will have to be a stand alone. They will also reflash your ECU as well and were also better priced on the flashes as well.

They utilize an in intake pump so you dont have to spend more money for the return-less pump and accessories which I cost out at over $600.00 . I went the the DW 400 intank fuel pump

Decide on where you get the harness first and then based on how they wire your harness will determine which way to go on the fueling.
