i believe we were getting hints that with the sensors mentioned to be part of this new system (3bar MAP, wideband, EGT), the capability to self learn a cam, E85. It wouldn't be too crazy to believe they have a Enrichment/PSI calculations/adaptions and spark retard/PSI or other more effective models.

Let's face it, if the motor can learn a new cam on it's own, there is reason to believe itll learn a turbo/supercharger.

The only dead end we should be fearing is N20, according to the info here.

You're 100% right with the fact that if we wanted to squeeze some more low hanging fruit out of the tune and bring it to the ragged edge, then yes, we will have issues for a few years there.
converting lb/hr to hp is easy. there is more than enough in this equation that mathematically states it could support well over 1000hp. in port theory. no biggie. when it comes to DI setups, this doesn't come into play as soon as most think. injection timing, the point where you need to be at to achieve perfect afr for desired air loads. you blast this window by say 8msec, you are hit the face with a crap load of misfire codes. {gong off the lnf experience here, by which, in same "theory" still half *** applies}.

some people do understand direct injection and vvt as the role played out together.

im not trying to argue, just trying to explain it in laymens terms as to why from a gear head stand point as of right now, port injection for power junkies is and will be more desirable.

I've discuss this in posted #370 about oxides.... I'm NOT sure what would happen. And that is being 100% honest with you. We do NOT test these engines with oxides. What would happen is anyone guess no two oxide strikes are the same. There are so many different variables with oxide and additional fuel that predicting the ECM response is impossible in my opinion. Then again I'm saying that I really don't know. It could be very bad or it could work.

One thing for sure someone is going to find out sooner rather than later, when these engine are in the hands of the public.

Yes but the ECU does measure Piston acceleration or HP/Tq output based on RPM acceleration. A big change could adjust itself with a little more fuel and a little less timing

My question about the ECU... will the ECU finally know what gear are we in (manual trans) or factor stuff like MPH in its fueling?

To a degree I liked the idea that the L67 ECUs referenced Power enrichment by time as by RPM. This could make the tune a little more spot on for high speed runs, etc.

why speculate when you can know in 9 days or less.

its a neat piece of machinery, but my Iron block is not intimidated in the least. I will wait a few years and see what the gurus can do with them and then I will think about it. I am more interested to see what the next body style camaro will look like. Hopefully they can make one that does not resemble a steaming pile of ****. That would be a stretch.

I agree. I've never liked the style or looks of the new Camaro. They should make it look more retro, more like the original first gen Camaro. Like what they did with the Challanger.

You're going to need more than that to convince me... How many GM rep's have access to the GM Corvette engine and drive train division which probably has hundreds of Engineers all cloaked in secrecy, and how would he know the owner of a 'screen name'...

BG has way to much inside knowledge to not be directly connected to the inner most workings of the new Corvette and I for one, greatly appreciate that GM has opened a crack through which 'we, the Bowtie motor heads' have been given a small glimpse of their work.

I agree. I'd really shocked if BG weren't the real deal.

Cobra4B, would you care to illuminate us on where you got this information?

Good morning Mr. Gunz!

I have a question about the 4.3 truck engine. Does it have a balance shaft?

I assume theres no 4.8l because theres no need for it due to the 4.3l?
Can you tell us why the stroke of the 4.8l was chosen?
