Have any pic's of the engine bay with the heads out ?

LMR Now has 1 7/8" C7 headers in stock! We plan on testing these bad boys later on this week.

Looks awesome, can't wait to see the results!

 Thanks for the pic and congrats on a successful power gain... 500+ hp is going to be a breeze when the exhaust and intake get opened up.

470/430? I guess after looking at all the tune only results and lg's header testing I was expecting more.

:buttkick:

stock exhaust manifolds, stock cat back, stock cats, stock air box, tiny DoD camshaft.

leave the 'zomg it didnt make a million horsepowers' elsewhere.

This cam is our "Stealth" cam for people who want the power but dont want to draw any attention to it. This is the smallest cam we offer for these cars. Still retains the factory AFM and DOD for great gas mileage. This is through factory exhaust manifolds, cats, and exhaust.

We have plenty more testing to do with our next few larger camshaft grinds after we install 1 7/8" headers and catless x pipe. so stay tuned!

I expected more as well.

That said, I'd *expect* to see a 30rwhp/20rwtq increase with a set of headers, ORX with no cats and still leaving the stock cat-back in place.

I also don't think it had a stock air box. They had the air box covered for a reason in the pictures. I'd take a bet as to say this is the car they've been testing their CAI on as well and I'd expect it to be in place for these dyno pulls.

When your putting a "baby" cam,HEADS and a tune (and possibly no air box) would you not expect to make more power? I honestly thought that even with a small cam it would pull 490-500.

Actually its still the stock airbox Martin. Ours wont be ready for 4-6 weeks.

Here is a startup/idle video of our C7. Only changes made were Kooks 1 7/8" long tube headers with off road x pipe. Still through the factory exhaust.

when Thunder Racing and Pat G got together, they used AFR heads and a 'CheaTR' cam to make a whole 400rwhp. they also used an intake manifold, CAI, and other bits. and that was on an engine that had been round for 7-8 yearrs at the time.

This is our Stage 1 heads/cam package. This is the Smallest camshaft we offer. Larger cams will be tested next. Still a 87rwhp gain for heads and a baby cam

Again this is the SMALLEST camshaft we are testing. Numbers will only go up from here! Stay tuned!

i know that, and others do as well. was just a little history of the 'stealth' packages that have popped up with some of the top tier heads. we are spoiled in terms of hp ;)

Nice work guys! Can you post a graph of the incremental gains overlaid?

The Alchemist 10-16-2013 06:33 PM

I was just saying to a friend, that when the ls1 came out, it was a few years before we really saw any progress in cams, and then we still didn't have quality tuning options. Who remembers maf translators??? Still, back then, guys were dynoing low 300s stock, I dyno'd 330rwhp/340tq with just a lid, and then the heads/ cam guys were barely cracking the 400rwhp mark, and that was with shortbelts, cold air resistors, etc etc.
Here, the c7 has been out for what, a few weeks, and there's already multiple long tube headers, cnc'd heads, "5" camshafts, and tuning. And guys are cracking remarks that it didn't make more power. It's only been a week.

I'm waiting to see someone toss a centri-blower on it or a turbo and push a few pounds of boost and see what it does.

ScreaminRedZ 10-16-2013 09:04 PM

Awesome results! The car looks great in that color too.

Boast has been already done.

6.8 psi gave 620 + crank.....Lingenfelter Dyno on a TVS 1900 I believe.

Blackbob 10-17-2013 06:32 AM

Numbers seem solid to me for it being so new, keep up the good work.

Wouldn't the CAI be visible towards where the radiator is on a Corvette? Kinda looks like they're hiding a centri back there...
