trying to find info on Gen V Supercharged LT4 swap into 68 Camaro
As the title states..... I was building a procharged LQ4, but since, have started looking at the LT4 motors. I have a friend that got cut off on the freeway and subsequently totaled his 2017 ZL1 1LE package Camaro, and he just bought it back from Insurance, they are ordering him a new one. He is ok no injuries... But today he called me asked if I would be interested in buying his motor and trans.... It has about 1900 miles on the car total, and the motor still runs but the back half of the car is wrecked... I have no idea what this could cost, but I am intrigued for sure. I am hoping someone can point me in the direction to figure out how this could work. I started reading Steilow's article on his swap. But are there others? Can I possibly be able to but some of the parts to do the swap? As I am not the best Fabricator out there. Or if there is a shop locally to me (Sacramento, CA) that might be interested in helping build this for recognition please contact me... I am not even sure if I can afford to do this swap, but he has been a great family friend for 25 years and he said if I want it I am 1st in line..... Thoughts? Also anybody know of pricing for a complete with harness and trans....

I'm sure there are several people who make harnesses, Here is one https://www.speartech.com/category_s/1836.htm
I have no idea what your budget is but not being able to fabricate much is going to make it more expensive for sure. I swapped a 6.0 with LSA supercharger and 6-speed into my S-10 and I would guess I probably $4,500 in parts not including the engine itself.
The motor has been around long enough that you can probably buy a compete front stub that will allow the engine to drop in and bolt up to your chassis.
I know the a complete drop out LT4's sold for $12,000 on e-bay recently so for me to do it myself I would budget another 4 to10 thousand for everything else needed to complete the swap. You won't really know the cost until you figure out what you have to buy and what you have that you can reuse and what you expect to have when completed.
It will be well worth doing the swap if you can swing it, You'll have massive power and still get good gas mileage and it adds considerable value to the car.

I am one of the people who bought a gen V LT1 on Ebay and trying to put it in an 88 Camaro. My biggest problem is the weather!!
Here's the major issues that I am dealing with:
Exhaust: No one makes headers for my year Camaro.
Transmission: TR6060 will need modifications and custom driveshaft or switch to Magnum
Fuel system: PWM required.
Most other items are typical LS swap issues. Here is a site that has a ton of Gen V info including a guy putting a LT4 in a 69 Camaro.

Make sure you read the Gen V LT1/LT4 Installation Guide

Better plan for an additional 10-15K in parts to make the LT4 run in an old car. I don't scimp on parts....here is my build:
- Gen V LT4 (Dry Sump) $13.5K
- Drive Junky Accessory drive system (look for Wegner as well) $3299
- Centerforce DYAD Clutch with Tilton Hydraulics (twin disk) $2500
- Fuel system (Ricks Tank, ZL1 Pump, Plumbing) $2500
- C&R Radiator w/oil cooler $1500
- C&R LT4 Heat Exchanger $750
- Peterson Fluid Systems Dry Sump tank and plumbing $1500
- Custom Air intake with K&N filter $500
- ECM, FPMM, and Harness $2500
- Dyno Tuning (includes HPTuners ~$800-1500
- S/C intercooler resevoir $150

Has anybody used the Holley sniper efi pumps for fuel cell conversions..
https://www.holley.com/products/fuel...s/parts/12-146
i was looking at running this setup and I really like the fuel cell I have and wanted to keep it. Per Holley it works with the ZL1 motor and just requires traditional relays instead of the PWM setup, and Speartech (who’s building my harness) said they can run the wiring for either setup I end up choosing....
I know most run the ricks tank with the ZL1 pump and PWM but this was something I could do to also save money with the cell I have and new pump vs full conversion and new tank and ZL1 pump.

Another option you have is our PSI Conversion harness for the Gen5 LT4's with the 8 speeds, very simple and clean setup. See attached link
