im getting one regardless, i figured i'd round up a few who are interested so we can get it a bit cheaper, whether it be $100, $200, etc...its a discount.

the whole thing about the s60's is is they are as strong as a 9" with the weight of a 12 bolt. also he mentioned the driveshaft he uses is good for 1000hp and he uses one and puts a 300 shot on it.

You sure they are as light as a 12 bolt? The dana 60 is physically bigger than a 9 inch.

W8N2SQZ Jul 23, 2006 11:38 PM

Depending on the price, I would be interested in a Dana and driveshaft combo!

its my understanding that is why they are so popular....lighter than a 9" yet just as strong as one....and more gear options i think.

From a sponsors website:

25lbs heavier than a 12 bolt, 10lbs heavier than a 9"

Scroll down less then 1/2 way

Maybe more gear choices but they are 10 lbs heavier then a 9"

don't forget that you'll have to shorten your drive shaft or replace it.

the rear is way solid. install is cake and i loved keeping abs and traction control.

I believe there is less drivetrain loss than a 9".

someone needs to close the other thread, its over 4 months old and that gp is OVER...theres people posting in that one when there's one "on the table" in this thread.

2002 Trans Am Jul 25, 2006 07:22 PM

Have they increased the gear choices?
Is 3.50 still the lowest numerical gear choice?
