Default How come the hardcore AU guys don't visit?

I have visited that one site, www.ls1.au I think it was, and it was not very hardcore, do the hardcore AU guys and gals have another site or do they avoid the web?

I see those dyno queen numbesr (ducks) but never see track numbers from those blown and turbo'd Holdens what's the deal Neal?

Most of the hardcore blown Holdens are non LS1 Powered cars. Have a quick read in the first above link from Launch. You'll see that many agree with your thoughts.

BTW, I'm looking forward to it.

You mean www.ls1.com.au

LS1's are only just starting to get popular over here.
It has and still is an expensive deal to modify one (compared to any other V8).
Next year will see huge leaps and bounds by the Australian LS1 enthusiasts.

We're catching up pretty quickly down here as more is learned about these engines. I have a 1958 Corvette which I have fitted an LS1 engine, LPE cam, LS6 heads, Granatelli, ported TB, Comp Cams 918 springs, double roller timing chain, ported oil pump, tuned length headers, LS6 manifold, Howell modified PCM, T56 transmission, C4 Corvette front and rear suspension etc etc.

You get the picture. It should be quite a quick little toy when it's finished. Hopefully the photo can be seen on this page.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Are those those big build Holdens with big turbos and blower all show and no go? What do they run? When I went on that forum before most of the threads were mostly AAG stuff.

Yeah, John is right about the content of the threads. You down under guys need to share the knowledge about mafless tuning with our LS1 edit tuners here in the states. The MAF is holding us high HP blower/turbo guys up from making excellent power. From what I read on your boards the autos require extensive dyno time to get the mafless tune, right? Hopefully that knowledge will spread this way.

Yeah I wish we had some Au guys up in here talking about the stuff they are doing, I know one of them had the same blower as me, and some of those guys have big turbo setups.

Maybe they are all slow and afraid to post on here.

.....or maybe not many Aussies know about an American chat forum called LS1tech?

I would like to see some Aussie tuners advertise on here.

I am just kidding with my last comment, but I am bummed out that no hardcore LS1 AU guys bother to post or read our site.

We would certainly be interested in AU advertisers too.

Some do they just probably dont advertise it.

There are a lot more hardcore cars that probably dont post on the aussie forums.

You'll probably find that MAFless tuning is real 'closed shop' stuff. Not much information is shared regarding the MAFless tuning. More than likely, it's due to the extra charge incurred for MAFless tuning with LS1 edit over the conventional MAF tuning with LS1 Edit. On average MAFless tuning costs AUD$500 more than MAF tuning. For a stock engine car it's probably a real novalty going MAFless and reaps the tuners a good profit.

ChrisB and Nogo have posted some very interesting info. Any of you US guys tried it yet?

How about some more pictures of that beast. My brother was just showing me some of the Holden cars of the weekend and now I'm really interested in them. That thing looks like a monster from that picture though. I bet it's a fun project to be working on.
