Default My Holden VE SS ute

Here are some phots's of my VE SS ute, it will soon have an LSX 454 intalled, the LSX will have custom cam, fast lsxr 102mm intake, 102mm Nick Williams TB, difillippo Long tube headers ans 3" dual catback exhaust.

It already has a Harrop 3.7 Turetrac diff, 22"rims and VCM over the radiator cold air intake.

Have a look of the photo's and see what you think.

Default other mods

It has been lowere on king springs, about 30mm in front and 40mm in rear, it is 6 speed manual, the boxes are apparently quite strong, it will have a NPC heavy duty clutch and slave cylinder, the LSX has an 8 bolt flywheel. The diff has been changed to a Harrop 3.7:1 Truetrac. It is a fantastic diff.

I don't know why GM dont release them over there, they are so popular here in Australia, they are everywhere on the roads, I think they have just started releasing the maloo in the UK, so maybe it is only a matter of time before they do.

As a fan of El Caminos I hope they do and I love your UTE.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I will try and track down an article I thought I saw, I thiught they were going to release the ute in the states, but I think is was going to be supercharged from factory. Chevolet were looking at it from what I remember, if I find the article I will post the link.

My engine is being done by SVS in Cairns, he has done all the mods on my ute so far. He is currently looking into what cam to run in it, something nice and lumpy, but not over the top and a pig to drive.

Wll keep the pics and list of mods updated as it goes along, things change everyday, but when I get it, it will be perfect. Can't wait for that day.

Awesome UTE! Love the color on it. I want one so bad. I was so excited when they released that pontiac was going to offer them and the wagon. Then pontiac got the axle. I've read that there are still plans to use that platform for a GM car line, but I don't put much faith in it.

Hey Guys,

Not much luck tracking down the article that said they were thinking about releasing them. But will continue to search when I have time.

Have some more info on the build for you all.

It is the GM LSX 454 with:

FAST 102mm Intake
Nick Williams 102mm DBW TB
FAST fuel rails
63lb Injectors
Dual fuel pumps
NPC Twin Plate clutch
Custom cam 246/256 @ .50 .700 .700 114LSA worked on the 1.8 ratio
Difilippo 1 7/8" 4>1 Headers
Highflow Cats
Difilippo Dual 3" catback
VCM OTR

Still to come:

Front & Rear Brake upgrade
Interior customization
