Default My 2012 Holden Built Caprice

I posted the same pics earlier (I'll get some of the engine bay and under carriage) finding parts is proving to be a pain as I can't get a straight answer if an exhaust system from a G8 will work on my car. If anyone has any resources I'd appreciate any info. Also, I'm skeptical that Aussie headers will fit since its right hand drive.

Some specs;
Engine: LS2 L77
Transmission: 6 spd
Wheelbase: 118.5 in
Length: 204.2 in
Width: 74.8 in Height: 58.7 in
Curb weight (C/D est): 4050–4200 lb

Through a dealer in Texas, you have to qualify to purchase these cars, apparently they're intended for government sales only (LE/ Federal Gov).

Damn I've been wondering how I can get my hands on one of them but I guess not anytime soon. Just gotta wait for them at police auctions I guess.

It should basically be a G8. I know that the suspension parts will fit but as for headers, I cannot confirm that.

sweet, ive seen the price on those in the mid to low 20s . some new rims and tint should help clean up the police image. wont like kooks headers fit them from the g8 ? And if no one knows do you think maybe a brand will give you a set to try and if they fit you pay and if not then dont . Maybe a brand would let your car be the guinea pig.

I've been thinking I'll call Kooks and see if they're willing to send me something with an option to return if they don't fit. Mods to come this weekend; TINT! I'm thinking a set of black wheels with a dish would look pretty nice. I took the car up Mt Lemon (for those familiar with the road) I was eally impressed how it handles, Vic and Charger have no chance. On another note... I'd like to delete the catalytic converters/ resonators but not sure if I'll have a check engine light on and affect the cars performance???

Have you done any suspension mods to your Pontiac? The Caprice rides STIFF!! But handles like it's rails.

headers should be the same. The rest of the exhaust from a G8 will be too short though.

That's what I was thinking. I spoke to Kooks, they seem to think a G8 setup would work, if it doesn't they would take it back without a restocking fee. BLR346, any Aussie sites that sell parts for these cars?

I dont have any suspension mods but I hear of people taking the LCAs from the caprice in order to correct the issue Pontiac had with them.

The interior is almost spot on to the G8 also. The door handles, dash, steering wheel, ect are all interchangeable. Performance wise for the engine is the same. The L77 is an L76 with flexfuel capabilities. I cant run E85, you can. Its an LS2 bottom end with an LS3 top.

What kind of parts are you looking for?

I would love one of those for a DD. I assume you would have to be a government employee to qualify for purchase?

Awesome car.

The Caprice is a stripped down, US version of the Holden Caprice which is a long wheelbase version of the Pontiac G8.

It is intended for fleet/government use in the US only. You could share this in the Pontiac G8 section of this forum and perhaps get some more advice and answers.

a friend of mine also has a caprice.

G8 headers will work!
G8 exhaust will work but needs to be lengthened under the rear seat and the tail pipes are longer
HP TUNERS can tune the car

Should only have a 6.0. LS3 (6.2) only came out in Australia in the HSV range(Holden Special Vehicles) at 435hp.

For what I paid, I'm very happy. The "superior" model msrp is around $34,999, I can build this one with wheels and mod, but I get your point.

Yeah, I figured out its gonna need to be lengthened. I want to delete the cats, just gotta make sure it can be tuned to not give me problems. What system (brand) is your friend running on his car?
