Big thanks to Lingenfelter!

Couple of questions for True Street (I have read the rules)

1. Are Hoosier Radials Allowed?? (I have heard of some street classes or radial classes not allowing them)

2. Can you run 110 Octane? (I have not seen any rules banning the use of higher octane gas)

I don't want any surprises when we get there.

Thanks

Jeremy

Yes and yes. As long as the tire is DOT approved, you can run it. Yes, you can also run 110 octane fuel!

Another quick question.. we have to run mufflers. Is there any restrictions on what muffler i need to know about. We were planning on just running some Schoenfeld Race Mufflers. They are very small BUT considered a muffler.

Hoosier Radials are not DOT approved.

This is going to be a problem because Hoosiers are not DOT approved, but you said it yes even though you said it had to be DOT approved. It is a DR tire that is legal in a lot of classes (X275, RS, and a lot of other's). But then again it is not DOT legal. I run the 275/50/15's in the Hoosier Radials so I guess I will have to find a different tire to use unless these rules change.

Honestly I don't see how it is an advantage or illegal to run a Hoosier DRAG RADIAL ( Need I repeat the DR part?) against W tire slicks and 10.5 DOT approved slicks and saying that a non dot approved DR can't be run against a DOT slick because it's an advantage? hah that's laughable at the least. Unless BG is one of those few tracks that is highly prepped between rounds for radials.

Not DOT approved? According to Hoosier's site they meet approval for DOT marking and performance, but states that they aren't for street use. I assume the latter is just a disclaimer. Anyone else care to expand on this subject?

since we are getting into it, how about this part...

"1. Valid drivers license
2. Valid vehicle registration
3. Valid license plate(s). Dealer/Temp plates prohibited.
4. Valid insurance “ID” card. Faxes and/or letters from insurance companies and/or
brokers not acceptable.
5. Valid state inspection sticker (if required by state vehicle is registered)"

from
http://www.holley.com/data/Pages/LSF...rue_Street.pdf

none of that was checked for last year, or at the shootout, just curious so i can plan to race against race cars or other street cars.

It says for not for street use competition only.

Hoosier D.O.T. drag radials are designed and approved for D.O.T. class racing only. They are not approved, nor recommended for any kind of street use.

Pasted straight from summit.

I thought it was the other way around.

I stand corrected, and wasn't trying to hold Lingefelter to anything by saying, "You said this so it has to be this way".

So if the Hoosier is approved for D.O.T. class racing only, but isn't approved by the actual dept. of transportation for street use then is it legal for and in True Street?

What I said about radials and dot radial tire slicks still stands though, I hope the track is prepped well for us radial tire guys.

In NC you can't get a sticker for your liscence plate if you didn't pass emissions etc. etc.

I do have all registration, insurance, tags and liscence so I am good to go!
