I will race against a faceplated trans, I am not scared! But would say 5th and 6th have to be still operational! But like I said once if it's a 9.0 class I would be a filler.

Some pretty good points being made here, I think we need some kind of rule set.

Just having sychronized transmissions i think could help keep the class in check.

28 inch tire max, synchronized trans, 3000 minimum weight, carpet, 2 seats, stock appearing interior ect.

Limit power, 76mm turbo max, f1c max, limit nitrous jet, maybe?

From a guy who has had both faceplated and synchronized transmissions (and who will have a synchronized transmission at LS Fest but could have a faceplated if he wanted). Faceplating is not an advantage. Those who think it is have never had a faceplated transmission. Faceplating eliminates common failure points in the trans. A good manual trans driver will not gain anything going from a synchronized transmission to a faceplated transmission.

No one is going to "build" a car for this class. This isn't "Real Street" for stick shift cars. If it was Ray would decimate this class. So if the "no double entering heads up classes" applies to LS Fest then Ray will be entered in Real Street and there will be a bunch of high 9 second to 13 second cars that "could" enter. If you are concerned with catering to the people who wont enter because they cant win, then this class is doomed from the get go. Make the rules open and simple, no purse for the winner. Just a trophy like True Street.

I agree on the Trans stuff. I am telling you I think my syncro and Trans is wore out that it just goes into gear no matter what. WOT shifting it doesn't care but still waiting for the boom one day.

Good clutch release goes a long way. My synchronized transmission in my C5 shifted perfect at 7500rpm behind my LS7. Good ol' Monster single disk FTW.

Me saying **** the faceplated guys is just a joke, I voted to allow faceplated transmissions. I agree with what you said earlier - LS powered GM 6 speed should be the only rules. If we start getting into minimum weights, how the interior should look, or jet sizes I'm out. I'm also out if there is only a trophy and no purse.

I gotcha. Sorry about that. I thought you were serious.

I think there shouldn't be any rules other than LS powered and manual transmission. They don't have time to tech the cars well enough anyway. Let alone tech another rule heavy class.

If you are out because there is no money in it why are you even coming to LS Fest? Are you going to run Rumble? Good luck winning any money in that class if you are running a stick...

What ever happened to racing for fun?

I am only going to LS fest if this class happens. If the class was close by, sure I'd race for fun/bragging rights, however, I don't have deep enough pockets to justify driving from Ny to Kentucky for a plastic trophy. Winning some money to cut costs on the trip goes a long way.

I plan to be at every LSX race this year, and have been to LSX Shootout the last two years in the Rumble. If the class is heads up, I will gladly be a filler as long as I can still run Rumble.

02 WS6. 3600lb. 28x10.5. N/A 346 (possibly 408/nitrous). 11.6X on the current setup.

The reason why I say minimum weight was to not get fully gutted race cars that have 2500 lb race weight, I do agree stuff like that will be a pain to tech. That was the same reason I mentioned the interior items.

I figure all the really fast guys run faceplated trans, not having that might get more of the slower guys to come race. But it would leave the faceplated guys screwed.

Rules we agree on:

T56, t56 magnum, tr6060.
No clutch less trans cars. Hand shifted, clutch operated trans.

Oh yeah I figure since normally rumble cars can run true street also maybe they will allow everyone who wants to trade true street so they can run the stick class.

I don't know if they would go for it but I figure it would be an even trade.

Need to get in touch with someone if we can manage to get the class up and running.

I know plenty of 10-11 second stick cars missing the interior and only have one seat. Cheap way to go faster

Pretty much. Usually the rules are stock appearing. This class would go fast enough for cage, then ppl run kirkey seats or the like. Stock appearing means to me factory looking dash and no tin work. Don't care if there is no back seat etc.

My car will probably be fast enough to require a cage but won't have one so I won't be running this class or any class for that reason. If my car does get a cage then I will be all for it.

My opinion on the class is that people generally just want to see guys banging gears and running down the track. If you start to limit min weight, which Power adders, interior and such people aren't going to care about running it. If you make it where as long as the car is LS powered and has as manual transmission it can enter people might be more interested. With that being said it would be more entertaining and have a a larger car count if it was a bracket or index class. You could have people with daily driver 6speeds all the way to a full track only car to possibly any of the pro touring 6 speed cars in the class.

Oh and a purse would be nice. Even if it pays only $500 to the winner that's $500 that the winner didn't have when he teched in.

I think to make it work and put on a good show you should consider all options to have the highest car count possible. That's all. Thanks for your time guys.
