Default Power Tour 2019

Anyone doing the power tour this year? whether just hanging out at one stop or going for the long haul?

Hoping to have my swap done in time to hit up the KY speedway stop, possibly Indy. Doing at least one, if not both stops as i am nearly right in the middle of them.

I was considering going down to zMAX as I'm up in VA, so not too far away. I went down to Charlotte in 2014 for the start of HRPT that year. Met Mike Finnegan and saw Blasphemi. My son and I Long Hauled in 2009. Love the Power Tour. I don't think my Camaro will be up and running by then, but we'll see. I don't think there's any way I can do anything more than zMAX, but we'll see. I mean, Martinsville is actually closer than Charlotte, lol! Then Bristol and Sparta are just down the road from there. It's always a great time.

I will be there the whole way, driving there, the whole way and back. The hope is to do it in this one:

And backup is this one:

If we can get the short list wrapped up on the '57, it's going. Short list is a gear swap, minor exhaust work to get it out from under the car, and finish the AC.

Nice cars,

i'd drive either but the 57 is certainly cooler.

Looking pretty good that my wagon will be done in the nick of time to make it to the Indy Stop!

I’ll be long hauling in my mustang, gf doesn’t want to bring the Trans Am because it doesn’t have a/c and isn’t “pretty enough” sigh

Just got my swap car moving under its own power this weekend. Should for sure be at Indy, most likely meeting up with the tour in Sparta for the cruise up. Should be hard to miss me in this heap

With 7,000 cars, you'd be surprised!

Hope it's all going your way. I wrapped up the last few items on the '57: rear tint, tweeters, rear lights and check fluids, I'll be taking it the whole way.

Unless something bad happens, I'll be doing the whole thing in this.

Nice! That's what I want to see! And beautiful scenery for the shots, too!

Not sure if y'all are checking, but here's a weather forecast as of now, courtesy of Wunderground:

Fri 6/7 - Concord, NC - 80/66 (1.3" rain)
Sat 6/8 - Concord, NC - 73/65 (2.8" rain)
Sun 6/9 - Martinsville, VA - 74/64 (0.6" rain)
Mon 6/10 - Bristol, TN - 79/61 (0.7" rain)
Tues 6/11 - Sparta, KY - 75/57
Wed 6/12 - Indy - 75/58
Thurs 6/13 - Fort Wayne, IN - 71/56 (0.1" rain)
Fri 6/14 - Norwalk, OH - 72/58 (0.1" rain)

That's important to my group, as I only have 5 hotels... camping the rest of them! I may have to sneak into the in-laws' RV some of those nights.

How's the wagon running for you? The power tour is a bucket list thing for me. Hope your having fun despite the rainy weather.

Worst issue with the wagon so far is weather related, were leaking everywhere! Smells bad in the am, roll windows down for a while, and the carpet is damp. Oh well, keep going! It's a smooth ride, very cool breeze with the vents, and no hiccups so far.

Well, actually, we caught a nail 300 miles into our trip to the first stop. Fortunately, it was the right side of Atlanta, so we bought a tire online from summit and picked it up there. Turns out they mount and balance, so we stopped there and continued the next day. Pics when we're done!

5 cars, really a disappointing thing that happens every year. I made sure to install an alarm prior to the tour. You get a false sense of security parking in hotel lots with tons of other hot rods... like, you're with your kind, and no one will mess with y'all. Truth is, it's too easy these days.

We did fine, made the whole thing with a few hiccups along the way, but really a great time!
