Question About Vehicle Inspection in Belgium
Might be getting stationed in Belgium. Curious what the vehicle inspection involves ref' modified cars, particularly if there is a decibel test for the exhaust.

Im not sure on the decibel level for exhausts in Belgium, but your exterior lighting will not pass inspection unless the turn signal are amber front and rear, and the DRL/side lights (think you guys call them parking lights) are white. There must also be front and rear fog lights. With it being EU, the regs are pretty similar to the UK. We can sometimes get a "friendly" inspector ....research!
The UK limit for exhaust (based on a specification coming from the EU) is 99 decibel at an RPM which equates to 3/4 of the engines maximum horsepower RPM, at a distance of 500mm from the exhaust tip at a 45 degree angle and 200mm above the ground, or level with the centre of the exhaust tip - whichever is the highest.
Hope this helps a little, but if you can research the exact test specs for Belgium that would be best.

If you are military or a US federal employee you fall under the SOFA agreement and are not required to change anything (lights etc) Your only concern should be modifications such as ride height or exhaust noise level.
