new on forum--autox'er

Hi fellas

I'm not new to autox, just to this forum. I have an SCCA Solo2 CP prepped 4th gen Camaro, full rollcage, stripped out, all business, weighs 2680 lbs, 500hp V6 and jericho trans., it's one of the fastest autox Camaros in the country, placed 2nd at the '09 SCCA Solo2 Nationals in Lincoln Neb.

I also have two other Camaros, a '69 numbers matching 327/auto, and an all original 96 SS.

I've tried to up load pictures a few times, but I think the files are too big. This try to upload pics worked, cool.

I'm in the NorCal bayarea, I run American Autox-Series events and San Francisco region SCCa events mostly, and some UFO events, etc.etc.

No typo, it's a stroked 4.3 90 degree GM bowtie 6 cylinder block to 4.5 liters (273 cu.in.)

The idea of going with the V6 is rules for minimum weight, 5.7 ltr=3000 lbs, 4.5 ltr V6=2500 lbs.

In 2nd gear it will spin those Goodyear 25x13x16 slicks all the way to 65 mph, I alo run 335x40x17 Hoosier A6 DOT radials on this car which gives it better transition response for slaloms.

I run CP in the local autox region, and it's nice to see a full prepped CP Fbody, just never expected the V6.

The only reason I'm in CP is because I have an aftermarket cam. Aside from that my car is setup mostly like an ESP fbody.

Nice. I'm into Autocross but I definitely agree that in order win you have to really maximize the rules to your advantage. You certainly can make big horsepower with a V6 and being 500 lbs lighter is a huge advantage. Nice going!

Yeah, even after people watch me take my runs, they come over and ask what I've done to the LS1 to make that much power, their tongues hit the ground when I tell them it's a V6, they then ask what kind of turbo I put on it, when I tell them "no turbo it's NA", they want me to take the hood off so they can see it, no one expects the NA 6 bangers to have good power.
