newbie from bakersfield hey guys i just got my first ls1 car. i've always wanted an ls1 but always settled for lt1 cars. anyway i cant wait to mod this thing and take it to the track. its a 99 trans am metallic navy blue.
since i got it (about 3 wks or so) i pulled the trans (a4)
rebuilt it with new clutches and a wider 2-4 band, transgo shift kit.
i installed 3.73 gears in the rear with all new bearings.
got a frost tune.
i currently have but not installed yet:
c5 18" wheels and tires
tr224cam
tsp off road y-pipe (looking for longtubes)
i still need a line lock and exhaust cutout
i have mt et streets from my last car which i will run on this car.
i'm thinking of a switch to 243 heads when i do the cam swap. but we'll see what the budget yields.
i do have to say after going from lt1 cars (and a 93 5.0 foxbody mustang with a built 331, blah blah blah) these cars really kick a$$
its nice to know that i'm driving around an 11 year old pontiac that can smoke most (mustangs, imports, stock lt/ls cars) and hang with the best.
i cant wait for the cam/headers install!
