Default New Guy.. LS swap into C4 corvette

Hello I'm a Noob
I Have been looking forward to an LS swap for a few years now. The L98 in my 91 Vette Gave up the ghost.
So I'm swapping in an LS. Right now I'm looking at a 5.3 347 low mileage..
Wish me luck.

I bought an iron block 347 with 241 heads and a MS3 cam. I also picked up a 4L60e.
This is what the engine loked like before and after a little clean up.

After

I'm going to start a thread here with all the details. I have a couple going in corvette forums but I think posting here would be helpful for someone doing it in the future.

www.corvette-guru.com

have 2 guys that have done the swap and both love them. C4s are the redheaded stepchilds of the vette world. But with an alum ls they are freakin light. Is the orginal car a 6 sp or auto?

Thanks for the compliments guys. I will be starting a thread here this week with the actual swap details. The only thing I haven't figured out yet is how to get the A/C and ABS to work stand alone. I will provide you guys with a link.

It's an auto, I have an adapter that will allow me to bolt my 700R4 tail shaft to the 4L60e and use a 96 VSS.(hopefully)
Looks like I found another forum to join.

My Dana 36 only has 30k on it. I may be forced to go with a 44 because of fitment issues. I'm also thinking it might be better to sell this one and get the 44 before I ruin it.

Keep an eye on vetteforum with all the prcks in the c4 section. I have seen 3 D44 full setups go for 1300 or under. One I had my eye on for 1050 but decided I didnt need it yet and got an el camino rust bucket instead

Further more if you have the 2.59 gear then I would def look into swapping to the 3.45 or higher D44. 3.08 can be tolerated but still to low for me and most.

I have a 3.07 If it works. I will use it for a while if it doesn't fit well
The guy I bought it from sold it because he was doing an LS swap and reported the 44 fit better. I didn't know i was going to be doing this at the time and his is a LT1 car so mine may fit.

The swap is done
The first video is the first start I had some wires crossed. The second video was after fixing the wiring harness, cleaning IAC and doing a TPS relearn... and installing better lighting. I'm waiting for a tuner and then its on the road.
