Going to pick up fully built GTO tomorrow

Hi guys, I'm Dave and I am from Indiana. I test drove an 04 GTO today and I am going to to return to the car lot tomorrow and buy it. Its got 39k miles on it. It is an automatic. I don't know all of the modification that have been done to it, but I know if has Kooks headers, a built tranny and rear end, 4k rpm stall converter, Patriot Stage 3 heads, an unknown type of big cam, drag bags, nitto tires, and a lot more that I don't even know about. Aftermarket brakes and suspension, I believe. I drove it today and it ran REAL good. It is LOUD as hell! I kind of would like to change that, but I don't want to hurt performance. I don't think it has mufflers at all on it. I sounds like it has cut outs. My last GM product was a 2002 Camaro B4C police camaro, and this GTO would run circles around it (or maybe more like straight lines).

Its probably clear from reading this how little I know about this car. You know how car dealers are - he of course "didn't know much" about it. I hope I'm making a good deal and not getting ripped off. I know it has been to the track but it seemed to run good. What advice do you guys have for me?

I think it's always a gamble to buy a built car. Maybe try to track down the previous owner on ls1gto.com or gtoforums.com to get some details.

Hi Dave, I'm David. Sounds pretty exciting about the GTO. Good luck with that, however, I'd be careful about buying someone else s hot rod.
