Default New F-body owner

Hey guys,

I'm from Ontario Canada and I just bought a 1997 trans-am today.

It currently has (among other things)

-LM7 bottom end (5.3)
-ported ls6 heads
-TSP torquer V2 cam 112 lsa
-pacesetter long tubes
-BBK SSI intake manifold
-Tick upgraded T56 transmission

Unfortunately it has a broken 10 bolt rear. I am thinking of getting a drop in 12 bolt (new or used)


It's my first time with an F-body, so I've got a lot of learning to do.

Pretty excited about my purchase and looking forward to learning from this site.

The current issues with the vehicle are:

-rich idle and surging at low rpm (cam is too big for a 5.3?)
-rear diff is blown
-interior is messed up (sagging headliner, ripped driver seat, badly stained carpet)

I need to get an e-test done on the car, so I will need a stock-like exhaust with 2 cats, as well as a tune that isn't running at 12:1 AFR at idle. Injectors are supposedly stock 01 lm7.

I will probably post up in the tech sections asking for local tuners (or should I just buy HP tuner and tune myself), used rear differentials etc...
