New Guy, '99 30th Anniversary TRANS AM
Hello, I just picked up this 30th anniversary Trans Am. It's a loaded coupe,in mint shape with 16 6xx Kms.
One of 65 coupes sold up here in Canada.
I plan on keeping this car for a long time and driving it occasionally in the summer.
I would like some opinions on what to do with it? I want to keep it original due to the fact that it's fairly rare. But I'm also interested in getting a bit more horsepower.
What mods could I do that could be relatively easy swap back to stock?
Headers, exhaust, cold air intake?
I'm new to these cars and this engine so I'm just looking for some advise. Thanks.

do some 4.10 gears , and you could talk to a vendor and have a custom cam done , along with a ls6 intake , and lid . That way the car will look stock . But have some more performance. The 4.10 gears will really wake it up . And keep the stock manifolds . but let the cam vendor know so they can spec it a certain way .

Thanks guys. I don't know if I'd change the gears. But what brands are good as far as exhaust? Air intake?
Can you change to an LS6 Maniflold without doing any tuning changes? I know the LS6 is better, but how much will the gains be?
And the Dexcool is about 2 yrs & 700kms old.....

Thanks! I think it will be baby steps for now....... Gonna start with a cat back exhaust. Not sure which brand??? ( I want the quad tips)
And maybe an air box lid??? Again not sure which brand? I've read some mixed reviews on SLP air box lids.

Welcome to the forum from another Albertan
The 30th Anniversary TA's are among my favorite 4th gens.
I would go with an SLP lid, MAF, and bellows, plus an LS6 intake (no tuning required, but I recommend a dyno tune - you will see gains everywhere with a good tuner).
For a catback, the best sounding exhaust I have heard on a 4th gen for catback only is the GMMG or Madman chambered exhaust. Very nice rumble, and docile at low rpm if the cats are left in.
You can search the classifieds here for the GMMG (no longer make it) or find a vendor that sells the Madman.
Here is my friend's car, 2002 TA WS6, M6 with SLP Long tubes, deleted cats, GMMG, tune:

Absolutely awesome car dude!
If it was my car I would throw Lt's, ory, cat back and a ls6 intake on there. Get it tuned and call it good for a while, that should give ya around 40 rwhp and you will absolutely feel the gains
