first ls build. any tips?
Doin my first ls build for my 82 el camino daily driver.. 5.3 budget build nothing crazy just a fun daily driver has a th350 but eventually gettin a t56 6 speed but not anytime soon. I bought a 5.3 lm7 out of a 2006 gmc complete with wireharrness for 400. What all do I have to change to make it dbc and can I still use my stock pedal and cable? Well be getting used upgrades any advice cam ? Intake ? Lifters? May put a supercharger or turbo on it one day but that may be a yr or so . Im new to ls engines all advice and tips are a great help..
Thanks.

Welcome aboard!
There is a section for "conversions and hybrids" where you might get some good feedback. If you are ditching the fuel injection there is also a section dedicated to those that use a carburetor on a LS.

I installed a carb on mine so I really have no info for you as far as the pedal and cable go. New lifters, pushrods, and trunion upgrade for the stock rockers are a good investment to start.

Whats gas milage like with the carb.? Been thinking about putting my 4bbl on main concern is gas mileage my 305 is guzzlin gas. And no hp hense reason for ls swap better gas and more hp then the 305.
