Default Newbie LS swapping a volvo 245

Hey Everyone,

I'm Dan, from Ontario Canada. 28 years old, grew up in shops, was a mechanic for quite a while. So I picked up a relatively clean '88 Volvo 240 Wagon a little while ago, with intent to build a 600-700 whp car that I can cruise in, do burnouts, maybe break a few hearts on the highway here and there. Driveline of choice is an L33 5.3L truck motor&T56 trans. Motor and car were picked up for $500 each. I'm about 90% done parts gathering at this point, just waiting on a few things to start tearing in to it!

Enter the car:

The car will be getting:
-Ford 8.8 Explorer rear end (narrowed and all that jazz) 3.55 gears
-coilovers
-bigger brakes up front (from an S60R)
-17" steelies (US Wheel, 022 gc)
-homemade roof basket with dimple dies n stuff
-STS machining engine mounts

Enter the motor:

The motor will be getting:
-single 78/75 billet turbo
-44mm gate
-forward facing headers flipped to be down low
-LS6 intake manifold
-T-56 trans
-larger injectors (Dekka 80lb'ers)
-fresh rings gapped appropriately
-lil jon stgII cam
-BTR dual valve springs w/tool steel retainers

What do ya'll think?

The project is coming along well thanks. My motor mounts finally came in a few weeks ago. I've had the motor in and out a few times to test fit some stuff.

Had a nightmare with the piston rings since apparently my motor was rebuilt .010 over at some point, and my engine guy that honed it for me didn't check... lol, so a few sets of rings later, my motor is almost back together now.

I'm located near Barrie, a few hours north of Toronto. Nice, cool to see so many LS 240's being built these days.

not sure how the hell he missed this...

Here she is mostly assembled.

Thanks! I was just going to slop it in there, but my inner OCD can't have that, needs to be kinda tidy lol.

Yea STS mounts and 302-1 pan. A bit Gucci, but nice stuff

Should be fun -- I've got a 6.2L in an '82 242. If I can help - lemme know! Big brakes, Kaplhenke suspension, 8.8", etc.

Wow, super clean!! I'll definitely have to peruse your build thread. Maybe get one of my own going soon. I'll definitely have to pick your brain a bit. Thanks!

I'm still saving for some kaplhenke goodies. It really sucks buying stuff out of the US from Canada though. My butt is so sore
