Dope dude! I have a 68 with a 5.3 and a built 4L60E... buncha other misc stuff, too! I'm also new here. Welcome! Did the tunnel need to be modified to house the 4L80? I'm between buying a MORE BUILT 4L60 and doing a 4L80. No one here seems happy with the conversion. Welcome!

I was going to modify the tunnel i actually cut a piece out of were it meets the fire wall but ended up putting it back just like it was reason being at least on my car was i would have to raise the tunnel all the way down the floor..for drive shaft clearance...so i ended up going another route i actually notched my crosmember an inch and a half down it probably not the best way to do it but o well i got better oil pan clearance even tho i bot the holly ls swap oil pan but i had to do a lot of modifications to my linkedge

Think it's worth the modification? Currently working on a single turbo kit and power output around 1000 crank. My builder says 4L80 is the way to go. Curious your thoughts. Thanks!

If you ask me....if you're going turbo the 4l80 is a must!!!. I don't care how well you build a 4l60 it will not withhold the abuse like the 4l80 would...I understand the 4l80 cost quite a bit more to beaf up but in the long run i think it's worth it

Right on man. That is definitely the consensus. Excited for the build to begin!

Good luck on your build....it's a little frustrating at times but like they say......it's part of the show!!
