Default Smoother ride.

I have a 2002 trans am WS6 with 35,000 miles on it, want a smoother ride, which shock would you recommend, and there are anything else that can be done to improve the ride quality? Thanks.

There's a good chance that the bushings are shot with the age on them. New "comfort" shocks and new bushings will soften up things a bit.

Late response here, but I've found that Bilstein shocks significantly improve ride comfort as well helping handling. Keeping tire pressure 30 or below, and running a tire that doesn't have super stiff sidewall also will help.

Sell it and get a Cadillac. If its stock you can freshen up the bushings and put new shocks but its a muscle car. At no point did GM focus on making sure it floats along the road, they have other divisions for that like Buick.

Actually at the 98 redesign GM softened up the suspension. My 94 Formula (F41) was definitely stiffer than my 2000 (FE2). The 2000 felt quite "floaty" in comparison.

I think it depended on the options with the suspension setups. My 94 Z28 was pretty stiff, my 96 TA non WS6 was floaty as crap and my 2000 WS6 was pretty stiff for stock. I still think of all the setups what I have now with the Strano's springs and Koni orange shocks its rides best for a muscle car ride. I want it to be crisp but not harsh and this setup delivers.

Regardless, none of them ride like my mom's old Cadillac DTS ha
