Hello all

Hello everyone,
I'm new here but not new to the Firebird or Camaro. I got out of racing and performance cars for a very long time but now I feel the need to get back in. After all I'm now 48 years old and I think it's about time LOL.
Anyway my last real perfomance car was a 1987 Buick Grand National( Turbo T for those who know). I pulled my best back in the 90's 11.6 1/4 at 117 mph. I ran stock 13.6 @102 mph.
I only owned one firebird before the Grand National and it was a 1982 S/E Fully Loaded LG4 model. I made tons of mods to that car including swapping out the engine for a 1987 305 HO engine out of a 1987 Monte Carlo. I fully worked the 4 barrel with Jets and tweaks, 2400 stall in the 200C transmission which I wanted to swap for a 700r4 but never found a good deal on the conversion due to the center console
I put 3.73 gears in it, hardened drive shaft U joints. Gale Banks full stainless steal exhaust. Custom port polished heads with a ComU cam if you remember them. Stage 3 Hyper Tech chip and a bunch of other small mods. The best I could get out of that car was a 13.8 at 100 mph and I was pretty upset as I spent a ton of money. When I got the Regal and pulled a 13.6 on eagle GT 215 65 r 15 tires I knew I wasted my time effort and money on the firebird and sold it.

Never the less my love for the Firebird Trans am and Camaro's still burn inside me as the reason I joined the forum. I'm considering many different things and want to hang out with you guys to see where it takes me. Currently my thoughts are a 2002 WS6 6 speed or Auto doesn't fully matter Trans am. I thought of tracking down a Firehawk or 89 Turbo TA which is one of my all time favorite cars. I got the pleasure to drive one a lot and race as a good friend of mine to this day still owns since new. No he's not selling it as it sits in his garage.

A 2010 or newer Camaro would be cool but I'm not fond of all the blind spots. I was suprised when I drove one. fast as hell with plenty of stock power but man I would be afraid for my life every time I drove it around town.

Looking forward to learning about todays mod's what you guys are going with your year model and whats in your garage.

Thanks guys,
Dan

Welcome Dan! 4th hens are easy to modify pretty cheaply and there are still plenty around. Firehawks are a little more rare and expensive but they are nice.
