New to LS1's

Thanks for haaving me. As the title says I'm new to LS motors but like what I see. I have a 75 more door Nova with a SB 350/th350 and Ford 9 inch with 370 gears. It's runs in the high 13's but looking for more.
Bought a 98 LS1 with 185K on it and was very impressed with the condition of it on tear down. Normal bearing wear and could still see the cross hatching in the bores.

Welcome to the forum. Are you planning on building or stroker or staying stock cube?

I'm doing this with my son's and they want to make it streetable but fast as hell. They're thinking 500-550 HP. It's still in the planing stages, so there's a lot of back and forth. We're looking to send 5-6K on it total. If we can get it to run high11's low 12's I think they will be happy with that.....for a minute.
I'm old school Ford/Chevy and they're in their 20's so they look to me for mechanical ability.
