I'm New Hi. I'm new to this site; I'm on some other local boards here and there (as far as I know this is a pretty unique name as far as nobody else sharing it). I live in Denton, Texas, and I drive a carbed '84 S-10 Blazer 2.8L 4x4 (4-speed standard), a '79 El Camino, a '69 Camaro, and, hopefully/soon, a '70 Nova SS with an LS1. The last car is the reason I've joined up. I know precious little about the LS1s, but I'm getting one (and an A4 transmission) out of a 2002 TransAm for about $1,000, and the Nova is the only car that doesn't have a motor or transmission. I figured this would be a neat deal. |
Well good luck with that man! you have quite a stall of cars for yourself! Ask away in all the designated forums and enjoy your stay here! Gray |

Welcome! Thats a great deal on the motor/trans. :thumb: Good luck. |
Welcome. |
Welcome! That is a super deal on that motor and trans, if you find more like that let me know! I am aslo preparing to do a swap, my car has a Nova subframe so we will have some similarities. I bought a couple books at Amazon that you might find helpful. "How To Build High-Performance Chevy LS1/LS6 V-8s: Modifying and Tuning Gen III Engines for GM Cars & Pickups" by WILL HANDZEL "Chevy Ls1/Ls6 Performance" by Christopher P. Endres They were about $26 for the pair with free shipping. I have learned a bunch already reading them. Also check out Jerami's FAQs here on the sight they are great! Pat |
Hahaha, I knew it was too good to be true. The guy that owned the car (2002 Trans Am) that we were going to take the motor and transmission out of didn't have they key. It was parked in his front yard (muddy as heck) with 4 flat tires, 3 of them which wouldn't hold air. It also wasn't his car, per se. It was being repossessed and taken back to the dealer, and he was going to pay what he owed them using the money he got from selling the motor and transmission. Needless to say, we didn't bother with it. But I thank you all for the support, help, and advice. I guess I'll just have to settle for a lil' old 302 in the Nova. :D |
nice real nice, welcome |
