new from Texas. 240's ;) hello, my name is Alex im from Tyler Texas (for now while im finishing up my degree). We also have a private shop down here (Objective D). Im all out drift, sometimes drag (but not a whole lot) I own a few 240sx, -maroon s14 that is my track car with sr20det (thats where Sar came from. a lazy redneck way of saying "s-r". nickname stuck with the car) i currently dailing this as headgasket blew in my daily driver -s13 240sx stock auto ;) daily -s14 shell. for projects and fabrication. im currently in the market for ls1 swap. so is my friend from our shop also. i will be parting out my sr in the future and im using the spare s14 rolling chassis for fabrication. recently i visited Phillip in henderson who put the Elcamino together and i got even more reinforced to do the swap! basically, im looking for information on parts and fab. ideas for the ls1 into s14. :) here are some pics if you are curious http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...635367-M-1.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...634369-M-1.jpg my pos and the s13 with rb26dett http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...ka1983/1-1.jpg anyway i love v8s and how the responce was in my friends TA. but im also a huge nissan fan and im looking for a nasty tourqy motor hehe.. that would be reliable. so naturally ls1 has being growing on me for a while. i got the tools and everything i need for the job just looking into doing more research. i know for some 240s are not their cup of tee but its ok ;) http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...paper009-1.jpg |
welcome lol we have a dude on here with the setup your trying to have. just go to the hybrid section on tech they have alot of info about ls1 engines in other cars. |
yea i being lurking in the hybrid section for a while ;) awsome info |
Welcome! Are you going to use this car to drift with? Or mainly as a driver? |
yes its my drift car. its being track and daily for a year now. i had a daily for a few months, but i recently blew a hg in it so im back to driving the s14 as a daily till i pull the motor and replace the hg. |
hmmm that might be awkward i mean an ls1 is a light motor dont get me wrong but then the tranny you have to get for it is gonna be a heavy one seems like it would be wierd drifting in that type of car with such a heavy motor/trans. i dont know much about driftin thats just what i see. nice 240 btw |
Damn thats a sick looking s14 you got there |
WELCOME! wow those 240s look great what kind of rims are those on your s13? i plan on drifting my 240 in he future but damn i need a lot more practice :( |
Welcome! We have a conversions/hybrid section for all your questions concerning the swap. Lots of people have done the 240/LS1 swap :) Tony. |
Nice I own a ls1 car now again but I sure do miss my old nissans.. Reminds me of my old 240sx. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...ki/Picture.jpg I sold it to some kid down there in Texas on some AFB hopefully its being drifted and you'll c it at some drift days.. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...Picture026.jpg |
mhm S14 *drool* |
thanks for all the awsome comments ;) and to answer the question, ls1 aluminum block with a t56 will weight about as much if not less than my sr or the ka i had before. i got a spare s14 chassis that im going to be doing all the fab work on. this way i can still have a functional drift car haha |
