Default RPM TRANSMISSION REVIEW. (Must read if looking for a built transmission)

So I first bought a level 5 in 2012 and I beat on that trans hard with my 99 procharger/nitrous car. I sold this car and the tranny is still going strong under big power 5 years later!

Then I put a second RPM transmission in my turbo SS camaro in 2014 that is still in the car. This one is a Level 6. It stood up to 600+rwhp for 2 years and the past year has been 700 and 800rwhp with a best time of 10.3@141 and I still plan to go for 9's in it this year with it in my 3750lb camaro! I am so confident in it that 3 times in the last year I drove it 7 hr round trip to the track after beating on it drove it home... It has never had to come out of the car!

The third one I put in my 408 Camaro a little over a year ago and beat on daily and took to the track running 11@122 with hard launches. It is also a level 6 and the owner that has it now loves it as well and beats on it daily with no issues. He was weary about buying the car because of the 4l60e until I showed him all about RPM Transmissions...

The only things I do to make sure I don't screw them up is keep the fluid up on them and I quit running the car if fluid temp gets above 200*. I enjoy when people come up to me after I make a low 10 sec pass @ 140mph and see the look on there face when I tell them it's a 4l60e. Usually after I tell them they will say it won't last. I then explain it's an RPM BUILT 4l60e and they make the baddest 4l60e on the planet..

Sorry for the long post, but I like to give credit to great companies that make these things possible. The guys at RPM are great and customer service is 2nd to none. I first bought an RPM trans because of the great reviews I seen and I did A LOT of reading to come to my own conclusion that nobody builds a better trans... When people ask me who to go to for a transmission I recommend RPM and will continue to buy from them for as long as they are around. I hope that will be for many more years!

This is my Level 6 going in my turbo car over 3 years ago. This is the quality you can expect to see when yours arrives.

Thanks for reading,

Zach H.

We have a customer with a 1300 hp Z06 with a RPM 4l60 and both our Texas mile Z06's (1100hp) have RPM rear ends and RPM 6 speed transmissions that are top notch. Great products and customer service.

Nice! The key to a transmissions life and survival is absolute cleanliness prior to building and not letting them overheat
