I bought a TMS iron 408 short block and I put it in. Got less then a 1000 miles on it and there was bearing material in the oil, so I called TMS, and they said to pull it and ship it back but itd be $500 for me to ship it there, and another $500 to ship it back to me,dSo instead of paying shipping, I took it to a reputable local shop. Well they said the bearings were trashed and it took #4 bearing cap luckily the crank was still salvageable, anyway they said that who ever built the short block did not line bore the block so when they torqued the mains down the specs they were way off. I called TMS and they said since I didn't send it to them, the almost 7k bill is all mine. Thanks for nothing Thompson and next time I'll be going to Texas speed or my local shop. You'd think they'd do something for my troubles.
