Thumbs up fuddle racing

all i can say is wow. my new converter kicks @$$. i got a performance series, 3200 stall, with a 2.0 STR. this thing is great. install wasnt too bad for a newb that has never removed a trans before, but with 2 friends helping me, it took 8 hours (ran into a few problems).

after installing it, i took it off base to see what it really did. i found out that the tires break loose just shy of 3K, and that 275 nittos leave REALLY NICE burnout marks if you launch at 2500 rpms, wot. then i tried a it from a dead stop, and only 3/4 throttle and t/c on...and i still left some nice tire marks i cant believe i waited so long to get one.

also, john was quick to respond to the questions i had. he also had my converter shipped when promised, although my wife lost it and i had to find it.

i cant wait to go to the track friday now. i wanna see how much more this is gonna help

actually, i had my service advisor print out a copy of the manual for me. it didnt help much though since it would say something along the lines of...
Remove transmission lines... refer to transmission line removal
remove propeller shaft....refer to propeller shaft removal
etc, etc, etc, for a lot of the parts. but it did have the torque value for converter to flywheel bolts and the trans to engine bolts

heres another removal guide i found. it has some pretty good instructions (even though i didnt look at them much) http://modernmusclecars.net/forums/a...p?do=tcinstall

id suggest getting a LONG extention. i think we had a 3ft extention, maybe a little more, to get the top bolt off, and also the one at 10 o'clock(both were a PITA!!). we also had a set of impact flex sockets (i think thats what their called). instead of having a flex adapter plus a socket, this was a socket that could rotate around too (and not as much as the crappy flex adapter)
