as a general rule, stiffer springs will go higher in the RPM band before they start to float. From every stock-spring LS4 dyno plot I have seen, the stock ones start to lose it around 5200 RPM. I believe you would gain an appreciable amount (perhaps 5-10 horses) and a measurable difference in the quarter by simply swapping the springs to a better set and tweaking the program to hold second gear longer

You're welcome.
Swapping the springs onto a stock engine more than likely won't show any gains as the tune, rocker ratios, and cam are still all the same.
However, if you plan on running higher ratio rockers or (if you can afford it) a cam, then the LS6 springs are gonna be a very good option. You'll be able spin the valvetrain to a higher RPM and (if the cam grind allows it) make more power.
I don't think there is any cam option for LS4s at this time, there are, however, higher ratio rockers available. If you get them, then keep the LS6 springs in mind.

most people just do the springs, rockers, and pushrods. From what i have read most people gain around 10 hp from doing those things. Its next on my list if i dont get rid of my car. Cams are available but they seem to not really be worth it in our cars cause like emerson said not really any numbers to show gains. Way to risky for such a complicated job and expensive to boot.

The only cams i've seen used were just stock cams from other ls engines, there are some companies saying they are making a performance cam for the ls4 but i have yet to see it. Plus everyone seems to want to keep DOD for some reason

OK people this is what Ive seen and read so far. The LS6 cam will work, but takes away from the low end grunt, (which is okay for us anyway, but no, dyno proof, from the Wisc. guy, but (Mixerda) did the same cam? At least I think?) and again no dyno proof! HUM, Well lets see what we get from a real dyno.... the only thing Ive seen proof of is about 14 H.P. that's rockers springs and push rods! Am I right, or did I miscalculate? Please let me know, cause If its more than 25 H.P. and T.Q. I'm in it!! I will not spray, or force air this car..... The fact that the trans won't hold the n.a. power is enough for me to just mod existing components, or maybe just add the real power ratio.

Springs, Rockers, and pushrods are good for about 10-15HP. Adding a cam and those mods with complement each other for a total gain of about 30-45HP (high estimate) with an aggressive tune. Spraying on top of that would be a nasty little package.
