My buddy has one and we're gonna run them for fun. Wondering if I'll get smoked. My 07 chevy ran a best of 9.40@77 in 1/8 mile. We don't have a 1/4 mile track local now. Since the 9.40 though I have got the truck down 500 lbs. So I should be close to a 9.00 I'm thinkin'. What ya'll think? Is he gonna spank me???

Yes, he is. As I wrote, a 9 flat in the 1/8th will easily beat a stock '06 Impala SS.

a 9 1/8th is about 14.0 1/4 or so so drivers race I say.

If I recall correctly, you had a couple of runs with a 50 or 100 shot, partially gutted car (removed rear seat and the like), etc. What was your 1/8th and final E.T. at the 1/4?

I know this truck well since I have 2 of them there very heavy. If he can launch
the SS he will win the trucks get moving when he hits 2nd and pulls hard all the way
I haven't hit top end yet on mine. And I have all the mods he has.

I don't know if i'm the one your thinking of, i didn't mention that much (i think lol) and never posted the results because I lost my timeslips and with out that its just talk, but with a 50 shot on stock tune with just intake, Nexen N3000 tires, spring blocks in the rear and partially gutted car like you said, the best i got was 13.08 and i think the trap was 106.something mph, first time every at a track too.
I'm taking the N20 off and doing the porting and engine work, and going to get this car in the 12s N/A with DR's on custom 15" or 16" rims in this cool canadian air

Now back on topic, I forgot that the Impala has 7" wide tires and not 8" like the Gxp so you maybe be right about the this topic, because the impala would be harder to launch.

I ran a 9.2 @ 77 with just an intake in my 08 SS. I had a 2.27 60 foot, average at best. So I think you'd have a little advantage, but could go either way.
