Default Question about putting new brakes on.

I plan on purchasing new rotors and pads for my front brakes soon and i wanted to ask if the pistons can be pushed in or do they have to be turned in. I dont many brakes before, just havent seen the ones on this car yet. Thanks

i have another question about rotors.. I want to get slotted b/c i know crossdrilled can crack easier.. i know slotted eats your pad faster but thats the only complaint i see from them.. My main question is i just want to change the front rotors with new pads.. Can i do that or do i have to change all four.. The reason im changing the fronts is b/c i get a very bad shimmy when i have to hard brake and the steering wheel shakes bad.. I had the stock rotors re surfaced and within a month, 2000 miles they are doing it again.. I dont drive hard on them and i break them in after being re surfaced..

let me know if its ok to just change the front rotors and pads and keep the backs.. The car got 28000 miles on it..

ppl these days, see i been researching for hours on what to get and what kind and i ran across someone that said its bad to just change the fronts b/c of a balancing issue with the brake system.. I just think ppl think there smarter than they really are and post false stuff

steveman....you now see...lol....i feel the same way...and eveyone is an expert on the internet...thats why unless its tried and true...i will only post an opinion or theory...like with this...I can see some balance issues with the controller...but all you would have to do is take it to the local garage and have them set the rears to grab some more meet on the rears and not as much in the front...cause the theory is right about front slotted burn up pads a lil more...and alot more if depending how high perf. your pads are....but its all really in the ratio....just pull some braking pressure off the fronts a lil and add a lil more on the back...and I would change the back pads to a really good upgraded perf pad...possible a HAWK composit perf pad...but this is my OPINION...we are trying to avoid what I call uneven displacement....
