What's needed for rocker install

Hey guys,

Just picked up some slp 1.85 rockers from someone on the board, and was wondering what I needed for the install parts wise?

I'll pick up some new valve cover gaskets, but what else, can I use stock springs and pushrods? Can I reuse the stock bolts?

Thanks in advance for the help.

You don't need to do anything else, but pushrods would be easy enough to pop in while you're at it. 7.400" hardened.

You can keep stock springs if you stay at stock WOT shift points. To remedy any valve float I went with 7.400" hardened oil restricted pushrods from Intense. They are 140.00 shipped... I have had my 1.85's on for about 10K miles with no problems.

are they necessary, or can I just use the stock ones? What exactly do the aftermarket ones do?

I'd rather not spend money if I don't have to.

Thanks for the info so far guys.

No, they are not absolutely nesassary but it is good insurance. Oil restricted ones keep the lifter pumped full of oil which prevents valve float and at least for me it reduced lifter chatter.

Would there be anything to worry about when purchasing lightly used pushrods?Other then bent ones or maybe scrapped

Not really. New ones can be had for 100-125 dollars probably. Comp Cams 7955-16 is what I have...
