Default 06 impala ss thermometer -39 degrees ?!

Whats up guys?
So i tried to turn the A/C on yesterday and the light on the switch would keep blinking, I checked everything...all seems fine...but one thing i noticed is that the temp is -39 celsius ?! when its 19 outside....this would come n go for some reason.
Any help would be appreciated

My guess is that your Ambient Temp Sensor is bad. It's located in front of (?) the radiator, iirc. Mine is bad too, I think...just been too lazy to replace it. However, mine is never THAT far off...it just doesn't adjust the temp very often, sometimes sitting at the same temp until the next time I drive the car.

most likely you are trying to do something the a/c doesn't like, try setting the dials to vent instead of floor, make sure the recirc button is pushed instead of the recycle button and see if that solves it for you.

I did put set the dials to vent and recirc, i tried everything but it wouldn't work...only when it feels like it. I guess im gonna have to replace it.

Your compressor won't kick on at that ambient temp. It's protecting itself. Go get new temp sensor and you'll be all set.

Thanks,
Tom
