58k..or almost 59k on my car? No problems so far, then again I've only visited the track 3 times. I know you SS people don't have tranny temp gauges but just make sure you let her cool down a bit and not hot lap it too much.

For the launch, I just stall it up very lightly to about 1600-2000 and get on it as I feel it holding traction. It's going to take practice to gauge it better. I do it with traction control off, too invasive for my likes.

Edit: I know my sig has a crappy 2.2 but I have cut 2.0x previously, I just get fed up at the lack of traction with the FWD and get frustrated at the car and yell it at it for not being RWD when going down the return road.

I've got probably 20+ passes on my car, some with drag radials.

With your mods, you should be alright stalling a little over 2k and ease it to the floor. Put the front tires down around 23 lbs, do just enough of a burnout to get a wisp of smoke. skip the waterbox completely.

Correct.

The JET MAF is probably hurting you more than helping. They really are universally considered junk.

all around 14.5 @97 mph. my front tires were seriously almost like drag slicks thats how worn they were before i even raced so im sure that would have helped but my launches were good. i realized i should have been shifting manually instead of leaving it in overdrive. that seemed to hurt me in the top end. im just worried about the transmission. it is whining a little bit in reverse now, and always has in first gear.
do you honestly think the JET mafs hurt my times? they claim that it improves your power

Launch in 'D', and when it shifts into 2nd gear, put the gear selector into '2' so it holds 2nd gear rather than shifting into 3rd gear early. So 97mph is pretty good since you were shifting into 3rd gear.

Where are you located? What track are you running at? What kind of 60 foot?

Get some better tires and hold 2nd gear and you should be clsoe to 13's.

I can't comment on the JET MAF, but it's a consensus on the forum that it is not beneficial for our cars.

i actually think i was going all the way into 4th gear near the end, and my 60 ft times were all 2.2 seconds. i was racing for my first time at dragway 42. unfortunatly it started to rain before qualifying , so they gave us all rain checks and we can come back and run again for free. i donk know if im going to though. i dont want to risk breaking something because i dont have the money to replace the tranny and mine already whines a little bit

I might be an idiot, and I've never even tried to do it, but how is it possible to go from D to 2 with the gas hammered down? I thought you had to press the brake to select a different gear. It's not like we have auto-manuals.

You can just grab a gear. Our transmissions are electronically controlled, so you won't downshift too far on accident or anything. My suggestion is to just put it in 2nd and keep it there, when you pass through the traps engine brake for a second to help you slow down, bump it to 3rd and let it ride.
