Thumbs up H/D Chin Spoiler for the GXP! Pic heavy!

Well been waiting all winter to do this little experiment/project to see if it would work on our GXP's. Since there was nothing out there for the lower half of the GXP. No ground effects , nothing. so I did this.

I had to lighten up the pictures to show you the image. Will try and get better ones later on.

I present to you the H/D Spoiler for the GXP!

That's a nice touch. I dig it. How did you take the "grill" off of the fog lights?

Thre are 2 places where you can put a screwdriver wrapped in tape slide it in and it pops/pulls out. It just snaps in place.

And 94ss06gxp,

Would you beleive it was about 25 bucks.

Ok, you need to spill the beans on where and what you bought. I was going to do this too but wanted to finish my trans, and engine first. 25.00 is a STEAL!!! Looks awesome and should lower engine/trans. temps. a bit too. Very nice work...

I love the look of it too, but I'd love to see it a bit bigger and painted as well.. Great job . Anybody thought about swapping the rear spoiler for something a bit bigger??

Looks like a Mach 1 lip from the Mustang, a lot of people use that lip on many cars.

Though I have seen them painted..being so low and possibly scraping things around here. Heck just installing I have seen the undercarrige. New England is not nice to the underside of cars. So keeping it black is what it will be. It just clears the driveway I am going in. And if and when I ever get my SE rear bumper I am going to have that rear black diffuser(sp) panel black also.

Very close! and actually the influence to what I wanted to do, as before I had the GXP I had a Mustang and wanted to do this.

and since it got such a great review...

here it is the reveal!:
I am using the pics from the various sites I got the idea from

It is called a H/D Chin Spoiler, the H/D stands for Home Depot.

This is what you need:

3m double sided tape

Tape it to the underside of the bumper or the rubber stripe

you can make the double sided tape as thin or keep it as thick as it comes. as seen in this picture.

mounted under a desktop just to give a view:

What I did was a changed a bit. I started from one edge and coiled it out as I went along. Wiping down the underside of the bumper with cleaner and the strip just before install. I put the 3M tape under the bumper area a little at a time as this stuff tends to stop being sticky if you let it breath for a bit to long.

But I basically cleaned, taped and ran the moulding around the underside of the bumper.

Total cost is about 25 bucks. Any lowes or Home Depot has it. As some figured it out already.

You will be surprised how many people have done this on cars. I originally was going to do this for my Mustang but sold it and got the GXP.
Its basically a MACH1 style chin spoiler. And being as a real MACH 1 spoiler is about 100 bucks..I went with this. But in my google searches I have seen it on:
SRT4's
Mustangs of course
G35's
350 Z
Marauders
lowered trucks
Porshe's
and a few others.

but yea thats about it. Cheap easy and a quick front end apperance mod for the GXP.

The cars I have saved that it has been done on in a good way. Some people really can not work with thier hands and screw it up....patience and following a line and you get the same results.

The Mustang

Some Nissans or I should say Infinities
