burnout in reverse?

i was wondering if anyone ever tried doing a burnout in reverse this way your not sliding forward and getting flat spots? just a thought of mine..

reverse has a much lower gear ratio, most guys do a burnout to at least second gear... and a lot of them would probably get a lot of hop.

And if you spit your transmission out in the street we'd like to see the video as well. Btw, theres no way in hell the track officials will let you do this. If youre on street tires you shouldnt be doing a true burnout anyways, drive around the water and give it enough throttle to spin em a little bit to fling whatever water you did pick up then give it the beans.

gxp-miller-gxp 06-07-2011 03:45 PM

the closest track doesnt ever have a way to go around the water hole, i just have to go through and i just try and spin it off after going through it

TheJPGXP 06-07-2011 04:08 PM

And they didn't know my car was FWD. :eyes:

gxp-miller-gxp 06-07-2011 05:26 PM

haha are you talking about the burnout contest when they made you go through it?

TheJPGXP 06-07-2011 07:54 PM

Yep. It has a V8 so it HAS to be RWD, right? :|

ls4door 06-07-2011 09:40 PM

Im pretty sure something would break or sound horrid if you gave to much throttle in reverse.

LS4:20 06-08-2011 07:54 AM

I did this once, one BALD tires.. Well, tried.. I assumed the 100% FLAT tires would spin in any direction, but to my surprise, I caught a BUTTLOAD of grip and just that tap on the gas pedal set me back about 4 cars lengths... Lol

get your $3000 ready to replace the trans after you try

higsy 06-08-2011 09:12 AM

Why ANYONE would want to do a reverse burnout is beyond my comprehension. Your tranny is in my thoughts and prayers.

TheJPGXP 06-08-2011 09:56 AM

Why not?

I thought about doing a rear wheel stand, the back of my car is light enough, I've gotten on the brakes hard enough to lift both rear tires, wasn't trying it to, just happened during an event. Anyway, I quickly decided not to. Would be cool to see. :D

hot2005 06-08-2011 11:54 AM

i wouldn't try it, 305 hp in reverse doesn't sound smart

Vidz or it didn't happen!

Bite me, if they didn't disable the first one, I'd be using it.

3 wheeling videos, in one of them both lift a little.
