Remember to put some dielectric on the wires and they will pull off easier in the future. Especially for the back ones.

Default Intermediate Pipe.

Dear Sir;

Just want to ask the total length of the Intermediate pipe. May I assume that it is applicable to an 06 Impala SS too, right?

Thank you for your attention.

Just wanted to add to the thread, Cutting the crossover heat shield should allow enough clearnence for those who plan on using these headers with 90MM TB's its tight but fits with no issues NOTE: i also sprayed my collector and headers on the inside with more ceramic paint of the 2000 degree variety. 5 coats, each heat cycled and cured. I did that to cut down on radiant heat. my TB Dosent heat soak nearly as much when i still was stock, so i know this also worked, coupled with my aluminum foil wrap (ghetto but works).

As for the downpipe section, Just remove the trans dipstick, install the downpipe section leave everything loose and reinstall trans dipstick. 5 minute job if that.(Bolt for trans tube hold is 10mm BTW) For the rear rocking the motor foward helps but mainly pulling valve cover gave me all the clearnence i could ever need back there.

on a side note i think dough thorley's design was alright, they couldve thrown in longer primaries, And the crossover tube is retarted to be that high off the trans case but close to the TB. but otherwise great fit and hardware included. my exhaust note didnt really change IMO. I had a full 3' system already with glasspacks. But MPG's are up and allowed me to make some drastic improvements to my tune.
im now pulling 26-27 consistently on 87octane no DOD

and pics of the coating i did after all the heat cycling and curing

So just installed my OBX headers yesterday. Where did you guys install your downstream o2. I'm going to have my wideband installed as well. But should the stock downstream one go before the cutout? If I do that then the downstream o2 sensor will be pretty much inches from the upstream o2

Hey guys; do Thorley headers + ls6 intake & ls4 tb work?
Sounds like I would need to cut the heat shield on the headers?

Is it recommended to re-coat them after cutting the heat shield?

To answer my own question, it's tight when you have an ls6 intake, very tight.
I had have the heat shield on the crossover removed and then the "wedge" that holds it in place cut off. That portion of the crossover under the TB was then wrapped.
