Free XM?
Hey guys. I am making a road trip this weekend and wanted to activate the xm in the GXP. I turned the radio on to get the ID number and call XM to subscribe. I scrolled from the preview channel to get to the id number and discovered that I have full service! I know that I am not being charged for this. I thought that the radio may need to update but I drove 35 minutes to work and everything was still working. Do you think this has to do with me unplugging the VCIM? Or am I just lucky?

I have a portable xm unit that I asked to have shut off last summer after I bought the Impala. I'm no longer being billed for it but I still listen to it every day in my pickup.

For free, I was happy for the purpose of my trip. I would likely buy a year at a time if the factory sound system wasn't so awful.
My father has an add-on Sirius Unit plugged in through a AUX 2.5mm jack in his 2007 Sonata and it sounds 5 times better than the monsoon set up. No line noise. Howard and news is fine in the GXP but music just doesn't sound good.

We have 3 months of free service when we bought ours. It is getting ready to expire, so the offers are coming in the mail now, a little cheaper each time. I still don't think it's worth $15 a month.

its not ... maybe 9.99 a month but 15 is just dumb and its run by a bunch of rabs and judging by the background noise sounds like their outsourcing their cust service to somewhere in afghanistan
