Is this just an appearance mod...or do they actually help with light output/spread?

The lighting output is better than stock in my opinion and the platinum bulbs are brighter than the Ultras I was running in the stock housings. Unfortunately I don't have before and after pics to compare the lighting output.

We switched from the chrome to the black headlights and the GP's go from black to chrome. Too bad we couldn't just swap between the platforms.

What is the brand? How is the quality? Fit / finish?

@Kazmaniac....The fit was OE quality. I had a set previously and they were not of as good a quality fit wise as these were plus these came preloaded with bulbs and new harnesses already attached. The brand is Vision Autolamps amd they were about $120 +shipping.

Good price - we paid around $180 for depot lights and the quality is so-so. I had one that I had to seal and another with a large piece of thread in between the lense and the housing I can't get at.
