Question Disable DOD

Hello, I have a 2005 Grand Prix GXP 5.3 and I'm plagued with the oil consumption issue which is now causing my spark plugs to be oil fouled quicker than normal and causing misfires now.

So I've come to the conclusion the best solution is to disable DOD completely so it never turns on again. It sounds like the only way to do this without throwing an error on the dash is thru a tuner.

I don't have any tuners and didn't really want to buy a brand new one, so wondered if anyone was looking to sell or rent out their tuner that has this capability to turn off DOD?
Or if anyone out there lives in North Carolina, maybe we could set something up to meet to do this? I would gladly pay a fee if anyone could do this for me. Name your price and I could probably meet you somewhere if in NC area.

Thanks!
Correy

You can normally find an unlocked diablo predator for under $150 that would do exactly what you want. If not you might be able to find someone with hp tuners that would do it for the cost of a credit.

If you find someone with HP Tuners, it'd be $100 to take care of it (2 $50 credits required per vehicle). If you were local to me, I'd do it for ya for the cost of the credits.

Yea, DuronClocker, that is what I was really hoping for....is to find someone local with an HP Tuner that I'd pay for the 2 credits and even throw some extra $ for their efforts. I just did a mapquest to Clearwater and that's a bit too far from me, about 11 hours. :-)

Thanks BlackImpSS and straitchev for the suggestions too. I never heard of the overkill until just now so might have to look into that one more.
My only concern with the Predator is that on their website it says it's only for the GP GXP 2006 and up. Mine is a 2005....surprising that would make any difference, but it looks like they also discontinued the Predator now so I'd be worried if I got a used unlocked one they wouldn't give me any support if it doesn't work with my 05 GP.
