Definitely a useful post for LS4 guys. Sticky worthy |
I just wish GM was still making the 1" chain for the 4t65 so someone could go crazy with a build... I have a build in mind but its hard to bite the bullet and try it when IDK if the tranny will be able to handle the power I really want. |
RosskoE85 is putting down over 500whp and his 7/8 chain broke. I was told to replace the chain every year with continuous abuse. |
Who cares about the 4T65E-HD anyway? |
I just finished my DOD delete and cam swap using a cam with identical specs to the GM Hot Cam, only .525 lift on both sides with 112 lobe seperation and 219/228 duration @.050. Besides having the compression ratio bumped up to 10.8:1 by milling the heads, everything but the valvetrain and timing set is stock. I put down 270 fwhp @6600 rpm on a dynojet. The shop said stock LS1/Automatic cars put down similar numbers on their dyno. I also did a TEP stage 2 trans with all available upgrades and a big external cooler. I will be driving the car for the first time since the swap tomorrow. I figure once I do a 90mm LS6 intake, LS2 TB, LS7 MAF, headers and a new exhaust, I'll be around 325-350 fwhp @ close to 7000 rpm. |
