2005 Gxp with 2007 motor

I bought not running 2005 gxp with a 2007 motor not cranking thought it was vats issue read ecm with hp tuners says it a 2007 saturn vue v6 so the ecm i not the one that came with the motor. Is it possible to still use that ecm if i get i flashed or do i need to find one out of a 07 gxp. Thanks:bang:

Were any of the sensors changed form the 05 to the 07?
The 05/06 uses a different computer than the 07+
The earlier engine has a 24x reluctor wheel and the 07+has a 58x wheel (there is a kit available to convert this, thus allowing you to use the 05 comp)(Lingenfelter TRG-002 58X to 24X Trigger Conversion Module)

uncertain if they have/use the same connectors on the computers but if they do you will need to get one for the 07 and have it VIN # programed for your car or nothing will work. Also possibly a crank re-learn too!

The computer was suppost to be the one from the 2007 ls4. So ill find the right computer and get it programmed and then hptune it.

Thanks for the info

can you confirm what type of ecm is currently installed in the car

Without knowing what exactly has been done here (05 harness, sensors and such verses 07 harness and sensors) I have not verified pin for pin on the 2 different ECU`s (E40/E67 for both years and there communication with other modules.
If you can use the 05 original E40 with (http://shop.proservsolutions.com/LIN...L460065397.htm) It may be your best option.

Also remember the oil filters are different for both engines... do not use an 05/06 filter on the 07 engine

Sounds like a nightmare to me sir.

Best bet is going with 05 pcm as it is original to car and repinning any sensors or swapping them as appropriate.

I would be concerned about the very issues Ill has mentioned...and then some...

no you can not use that ecm..

you have to get the proper 2007 ecm for that car/engine...

you can not use a 2005 or 2006 ecm, because they were different for the 2007 engines.. the controlling parameters/settings in the 2007/E67 ecm are different... so you have to get the correct 2007 E67 ecm for it...

I am going to have to correct 06montess on this one because:
- the 05/06 uses a body control module p/n 19300151
- the 07 uses body control module p/n 15942206

by using the 07 computer on the 05/06 it/they will not communicate with each other.
the engine difference is the crankshaft position sensor on both engines the -05/06 uses a 24 tooth reluctor ring and its matching sensor
-07 uses a 58 tooth reluctor ring and its matching sensor

the camshaft sensors are the same on both but the cam gear on the 05/06 only has 1 pickup/phase, the 07 cam gear has 4 pickups/phase

So using the unit I recommended directly plugs into those sensors and translates the 07 outputs to the required 05/06 parameters.

the transmission control units are the same though the 07 uses an extra pin that the 05/06 does not (it is an extra ground)

there is/ are some other small differences but to get you going in the right direction go with the 05/06 ECM and the unit recommended above.

this is providing that the 05/06 engine harness was used with the 07 engine, in this case the crank sensor connector would not plug into the 07 crank sensor as it has a different connector. the camshaft sensor connector are the same.
