dealer malarkey? so i need a new blender door actuator because of the infamous cheap parts in them, and the known clicking noise, however, iwent to the dealer and they said that after installing, the car had to be reprogrammed or some other nonsense? isthis true, because i can do the install myself easy. also, the noise has migratedfrom the slightly annoying clicking inthe glove box area,to a loud ass pounding almost in the dash in the front right underthe windshield. is this the same problem? edit: the dealer wants 500 bucks for install and "reprogram"which is whyim asking |
The re-programming they speak of is only... There is also a control module and to reset it you must pull the HVAC fuse for 60 seconds with the key in the off position. Then re apply the fuse. That's it! For the actuators, check out Rockauto, they are inexpensive. As for their locations: http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/r...uator-Left.jpg http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/r...ator-Right.jpg http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/r...deActuator.jpg http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/r...onActuator.jpg |

Same here , i actually had one fail twice but havnt had a problem in a few years never did any reset. the seem to learn on there own. They might have some type of feed back cicruit so they know there posistion but ive not looked at the diagram. |
Yes the re-set may not be required... but sometimes the actuators start to eat themselves and lose the ability to return on their own this is where the re-set is helpful (as in you need defrost mode until you get the new parts and it is stuck on the floor because the doors/actuators are out of sink) |
