Default Monte Carlo Bigger Brakes/Calipers ?

I'm looking for a bolt on solution for the front/rear.

I Really need some larger Rotors/calipers in the front and back.

I've read the threads on this however its mostly for GXP's, does anyone have any information of what will bolt up to the monte carlos and if they do or do not clear the factory wheels, and if not what is necessary to make them clear etc.

Thanks

Just buy a set of gxp brakes if you want to upgrade but keep your stock wheels

The Monte Carlo front rotors are 12 inches
The GXP are 12.7
and these brembo's are 13.6

Hey buddy, take a quick read of this thread, this guy may be able to assist if there are any issues...

Let us know how the upgrade goes though, I certainly wouldn't mind doing it if all went well!

Hardly a ripoff if you consider what bigbrake kits go for. Most are $1000 or higher. Hell a new set of GXP calipers alone are $300 dollars not counting the rest of the hardware. I wonder what those CTS-V calipers retail for now.

That thread doesn't paint a real nice picture for that kit. I have considered the stainless line upgrade but he calls it cheap. Wondering if any other options for line are out there except ZZP, I have found nothing in my searches and the lines are surely not something I would take a chance on being cheap or inferior. Anyone know or have part numbers for stainless front lines?

How much noticeable was the difference in stopping from the factory GXP calipers? Do you consider the stainless line good quality? Why no cross drilled rotors? Is that the foam chin spoiler?

I've had zzp lines for a long time, I have zero complaints. And yes a very noticeable diffrence in my opinion. Car will easily clock over a 1 G in decel coming to a abrupt stop. I have blank rotors because of the deal I got for the package. Or else I'd order drilled. And yea that's the "home depot" garage door lip

Are your rotors bigger too and is that required to use those calipers? If so what vehicle are they for so I can look into cross drilled rotors as well? For all the tearing apart you do on that car it shows well!

Damn , stepping up to drilled rotors for the GT500 doesn't have many options. Found some cheap eBay ones that don't interest me. Don't want to change the cars looks by going non drilled and really don't want to spend 125 per rotor for good ones either. I guess some stainless lines, synthetic DOT 4 fluid and maybe some Hawk pads could get me a decent enough improvement over stock.
