Default knock retard and knock counts

Noticed that while driving at a steady speed I have knock counts of 1-4. At partial and full throttle, knock counts is at 1-8. Knock retard is 0 at steady speed but throughout the power band can be anywhere from 0-1.9. Oddly enough, I also am showing anywhere from 0-7 misfires. What's odd though is there is no check engine light at all and no stored codes. Overkill 91 tune. Any ideas on this issue fellas?

Your engine will report misfires even though there isn't any. That's why there's a threshold that has to be met for misfires per so many revolutions to trigger the code.

What worries me more I'd the knock counts, I know it's not enough for a CEL but it feels like I'm losing power at WOT. How do I get rid of these knock counts? Any ideas?

Can you get higher than 91 octane where you are?

90% of the time I run 93 octane. I'm starting to think that this is a false knock count. But I don't wanna believe it's false cause I feel a slight loss in power .

Well knock wether it be actual or false will still pull timing and that's why you feel it losing power.

Any way to correct it without a retune? Overkill takes too long. Still waiting on an email from 2 months ago. Haha.

Desensitizing the knock sensors is the only way if it actually is false knock. But that requires a modification to your tune.

OK thanks, what about finding out if it is a true knock or not? I appreciate all the help.

If it's real knock pull enough timing where it's knocking (g/cyl vs RPM) and then it'll stop knocking.

So really, the only way to fix it if it's a real knock is to pull timing at that rpm ? Damn, I need to take some sort of hptuners course or something. The local dyno shop is fantastic with LS motors, they are just expensive!
