Default 05 Grand Prix GXP w/ LS4

Hey everyone,

I got my 05 GXP with the LS4 back in late May, Dark Cherry Metallic Paint with all options except Nav. It might be wrong wheel drive and 4-door, but I needed something I could drive year round, and nobody expects a 4-door to smoke em from a light.

No mods on the car yet, but I have some plans. I'm talking with another GXP owner about him making up a 3" mandrel-bent aluminum FWI setup. There aren't any real aftermarket parts for the LS4 yet, so I'll have to make due until a PCM and other updates come out. I'm also looking at putting a more aggressive looking hood on over the winter, and some other little stuff.

You can see a bunch of pics at http://www.cardomain.com/ride/1746875

Welcome and nice car. I'm not too familiar with the LS4... what are the stock HP ratings? What size is it and most important how does it go?

It's quick, 0-60 in 5.7
My best time so far is 14.3 @ 96, but it was my first time ever at a track. Some of the guys over on ClubGP have hit 13.8-14.0 at up to 100.2 completely stock. I plan on getting out to the track this weekend for the last test and tune of the season.

Wow that car is just beautiful with those rims. Is that weight of the car w/ or w/o the driver?

Welcome and nice looking GXP! I love the little heat extractor-like vents on the side of the car in the first pic, looks real good! Is that the stock exhaust too? Looks like its got some great potential!

Weight was with me, I think I was around 185 at the time.

Everything in those pics is stock, that was the day after I picked the car up. If you check out my cardomain page you can see most of the mods I have planned right now, most of them are sitting at my parents house waiting to be put in over thanksgiving.

Very sweet car and glad GM is not swaying from the idea of V-8's in a car...especially the family sedan!

I love my family sedan... the first night I had it I raced a guy with an 88 turbo supra... he wouldn't race my brothers '96 T/A or his friend's turbo eclipse, but he was quick to challenge the lowly Grand Prix, lol. It didn't help when my brother told him "Yeah, it's just a stock Grand Prix." After I beat him by 2 cars, he turned around, asked what I had and got pissed when I told him it was a V8.

You're welcome here, it was suggested that the forum title be changed to something like LS4 FWD vehicles to include the Monte and Impala crowd. What do you think of the Impala?
