Default new noise in the exhaust

I took the rez off yesterday and put a pipe in place and now have a weird rattling, raspy, kinda fart pipe noise when you rev up the motor. I dont like it and just want the growl

I have flowmaster 40's on and had them before that and no noise, will I have to put the rez back on?

WHAT HAPPENED? CONFUSED?

No, no leak. We checked it out, sounds internal? Did a muffler fall apart or something?

not a leak, mine does it to at high rpm. that is why we have resinators. after the car is warmed up it wont really do it. but cold it does. hte key around it when u wanna rev up... rev but dont let off gas instantly. like rev up to 5g and let off gas in a slower motion so the doesnt drop off instantly

Rev up 5g at idle? You have done tuning, huh?

mine will rev to 4200rpm. but she did just let completely off the gas. DONT?? So I dont have a problem then, its just the rez is gone and the rez is what takes care of the noise. RIGHT? otherwise I'm getting an appointment with my exhaust guy tomorrow. Got to have her right for the weekend.

hear me?

The resonator hanging out someplace other than in the exhaust is the problem. Honestly, I have never found a resonator to be a restriction in any exhaust and they do wonders with drone and raspiness. Put it back on, you will be happier

lol yeah i have a tune. make sure car is warmed up before u go reving it up, and when u do, like i said dont just let off gas instantly and u wont get the raspy. u shouldnt really get it when the car is warm anyways.. i get it slightly if i rev it past 5,000 rpm. not really a cool thing reving up a automatic car anyways though. lolol

My WS6 was a raspy bastard, especially when I had the cut-out open before I got the borla.

It's an issue with all LSx engines. Open the exhaust too much and you get the nasty "can of marbles" rasp. A resonator is not an exhaust restriction (you can see right through them) so putting it back on is a good idea will get rid of the rasp.
